Newly built stables at Schouten family

Stable Schouten

Antoon Schouten and his daughter Jolanda have both been crazy about horses all their lives. Antoon is an avid judge and, together with Jolanda, regularly breeds dressage foals. Jolanda rides the young, homebred horses and competes them. After the piggery was demolished, space was created for a new building. Two halls were put up with 24 stalls, five rearing stalls, an indoor arena, a flat and a room for storage.

Stable Golf

The stables of Antoon and Jolanda feature the Golf type of stable from VDO Horse Stables. A model with high front walls and sliding doors, in this case extended with a hay rack.

Passion for horses and business

Sitting still is actually not an option for Antoon and Jolanda. They love working with their horses and with all the space at home, it was a logical step to build stables on a larger scale. Jolanda says: “We have four horses of our own that we ride and/or breed with. The other 20 stables are rented by Belle van Breugel for her horses.” Belle trains young (jumping) horses, trains horses for owners and sells horses. She likes the fine location of Antoon and Jolanda Schouten, which she has almost entirely to herself anyway. “Belle doesn’t have to consider other customers. That is very nice for her with young horses and especially with stallions,” adds Jolanda.

Ease of use

Antoon and Jolansa's choices

Antoon and Jolanda have years of experience in the ‘horse world’. They therefore knew exactly what their new stable building had to meet. Lots of natural light with skylights, wide aisles with non-slip covering and safe, spacious stables for the horses. Conscious choices made by Antoon and Jolanda included:

  1. High front walls with sliding doors
  2. Hay rack that can be filled from the aisle
  3. See-through parts in the partition wall
  4. Retractable partitions
  5. Wide aisles
  6. Hatches to the outside
  7. Washroom wall
  8. Treatment box

Stables Golf

The stables we built for Antoon and Jolanda are of our Golf model with a custom-made hay rack. We built these stables in a newly built barn and were therefore able to keep standard dimensions. Customisation is always possible and there is a lot to choose from with each model.

Do you already have an idea of how you want your stables to be built? We like to think along with you. Click through below to the Golf stables, which are also at Familie Schouten in Schijndel, and check out the possibilities.
